Submissions
The Jama‘a editorial board invites the submission of articles employing a variety of methodologies and offering theoretical and empirical contributions to Middle East studies. Original articles that have not been previously published in Hebrew or any other language will undergo anonymous academic peer review by expert readers. Manuscripts that are under review by another journal should not be submitted.
Author Guidelines
The length of the article must not exceed 10,000 words, including footnotes. Each article should include an abstract of approximately 200 words in both Hebrew and English. Manuscripts should be submitted in David font, size 12, with double spacing.
Authors are required to submit two separate files:
1. An anonymized manuscript in a Word file titled “Anonymous Manuscript.” To ensure blind review, this file should include only the body of the article, without any identifying information about the author(s), including names and self-references to previous publications.
2. A Word file containing the authors’ identifying details, titled “Full Manuscript.” The article should open with a title page including the article title, authors’ names, address, phone number, email, ORCID number, academic degree, and institutional or professional affiliation. Where relevant, acknowledgments, funding sources, etc., should also be included.
Authors are responsible for formatting references in accordance with the Chicago Manual of Style, 17th edition. Footnotes should be right-aligned, in David font, size 11, with 1.5-line spacing.
Manuscripts should be submitted in Word format to: jamaa@post.bgu.ac.il
For transliteration guidelines, please refer to the Hebrew version.
